Job Description

The Youth & College/Young Adult Ministry Pastor oversees the spiritual formation, leadership development, and community life of the Youth Group and Koinonia (College/Young Adults). This role provides pastoral care, equips leaders, and cultivates healthy, gospel-centered environments for growth.

Youth Ministry
  • Sunday Youth Services
    • Lead and preach at weekly Sunday Youth Services.
    • Shepherd students through relational connection and spiritual guidance.
    • Coordinate service flow as needed (worship, prayer, announcements).
  • Friday Night Youth Group
    • Lead Friday Night Bible Studies.
    • Prepare weekly Bible study materials.
    • Guide student leaders as they prepare to lead small groups.
    • Plan and attend quarterly “fun” activities for Friday night fellowships.
    • Pray regularly for students and stay attentive to generational needs and challenges.
  • Pastoral Care & Community
    • Connect with new students and help them acclimate (rides, introductions, relationships)
    • Make intentional effort to get to know each student—school, interests, hobbies, struggles
    • Check in on students who have not been attending for two or more consecutive weeks
    • Provide counseling and pastoral support as needed (in-person or phone).
    • Coordinate major events (yearly retreats, service opportunities, lock-ins).
    • Participate in One Heart youth gatherings (monthly collaboration with local churches).
  • Youth Teacher Team Leadership
    • Leader Care & Development
      • Meet one-on-one with youth teachers to support their spiritual and personal well-being.
      • Encourage spiritual disciplines among youth leaders.
      • Equip teachers to disciple students effectively.
    • Team Coordination
      • Hold biweekly team meetings for planning and alignment.
      • Facilitate team community-building gatherings (twice/year).
      • Lead planning for fellowship events and annual retreats/lock-ins.
  • College & Young Adult Ministry (Koinonia)
  • Teaching & Facilitation
    • Lead Saturday Night gatherings (Bible study, book study, spiritual disciplines, fellowship).
    • Balance teaching with facilitation, encouraging adult participation and discussion.
    • Develop and empower emerging leaders within the group.
  • Pastoral Care & Community
    • Connect with new college students and young adults.
    • Check in on students who have not been attending for two or more consecutive weeks
    • Provide counseling and pastoral support as needed.
    • Coordinate yearly retreats and service opportunities.
    • Pray consistently for the ministry and remain engaged with generational trends.
    • Attend Furnace Prayer & Worship (monthly with Koinonia).

    • Attend weekly staff meetings (with Korean Ministry leadership).
    • Collaborate regularly with the Pastor of English Ministry (Living Stones).
    • Participate in monthly English Ministry leadership meetings.
    • Serve as an active participant in broader church life.
    • Be present and engaged in Sunday English Ministry worship (announcements, corporate prayer, etc.)
  • Partner Ministries
    • One Heart:
      Monthly youth worship gatherings among Korean American churches.
    • Furnace:
      Monthly young adult prayer gathering among churches (last Saturday of the month).
  • Qualifications
    • Has the heart and ability to connect with young people
    • Has extensive experience working with young people in Korean-American church context
    • Has a degree from accredited theological seminary
    • Fluent in English
    Compensation
    • $70,000 per year
