University of Hawai'i, Kapi'olani Community College, Math & Sciences Department is seeking applications for the Mathematics lecturer position.

For placement into the lecturer pool beginning Spring 2027. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in the assigned subject area.
- Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes.
- Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.
- Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
- Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week).
- Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree; OR
- Master's degree in Math Education with 18 credits of advanced coursework in math of which 9 credits are at the graduate level; OR
- Master's degree of Art in Teaching Math with 18 credits of advanced coursework in math, at least 9 of which are at the graduate level; OR
- Master's degree in STEM-related field with 18 credits of advanced coursework in math
Note:
"Advanced coursework" is defined as 300-400 level courses offered in a bachelor's program. "Graduate level" coursework is defined as post baccalaureate courses at the level specified by the institution where the credits were earned. STEM-related fields: applied math, engineering, physical science, and biological science.

Qualifications:
- Teaching experience related to the course(s) to be taught at the community college level.
- Demonstrated ability to work with community college students.
- Work experience related to the course(s) to be taught.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
- Familiarity with competency-and outcomes-based instruction.
