Punahou School After School Language Program (ASLP) Lead Teacher
The Punahou School After School Language Program (ASLP) strives to provide a sequential language learning experience for students in grades 2-6 and prepare those who are interested in their Punahou language learning experience in 7th grade. The ASLP Lead Teachers are critical members of the ASLP. Lead Teachers will use their language acquisition knowledge to collaborate with the Punahou Language department heads to design and implement a language curriculum aligned with the Punahou Language program.
Lead Teachers will lead the implementation of the ASLP curriculum with the support of Assistant Teachers and student workers when necessary/applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Language Instruction, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Three (3) years of experience working with elementary or middle school students, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Three (3) years of experience teaching a world language to students in Grades K–8.
- Demonstrated written and spoken fluency in the target language.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging language lessons for students in Grades 2–6, with flexibility to adapt instruction across the K–8 spectrum.
- Experience collaborating with and leading colleagues in the development and implementation of a dynamic, student-centered curriculum.
- Strong cultural competency and the ability to incorporate culturally responsive practices into teaching.
- Proven experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, with a deep understanding of adolescent development, individual learning needs, and an appreciation for varied perspectives across cultures, disciplines, and lived experiences.
- Proven ability to supervise and support a team of high school teaching assistants and adult educators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Skilled in initiating and facilitating conflict resolution with students, staff, or families, maintaining a positive and respectful learning community.
