Position: PROFESSOR with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will design, develop, and teach executive education addressing regional security architecture, alliances and partnerships, access, basing, overflight, force posture, operational access, and related Indo-Pacific security challenges.
* You will educate security practitioners on the strategic importance of access and posture and the political, diplomatic, institutional, and security relationships necessary to enable them.
* You will lead and support Center activities, including executive education courses, workshops, policy dialogues, senior-leader engagements, strategic visits, and international partnerships.
* You will collaborate across departments and disciplines to integrate alliance management, strategic deterrence, resilience, security cooperation, and regional security architecture into College programming.
* You will conduct research and publish scholarly and policy-relevant work addressing Indo-Pacific regional security architecture, access, alliances and partnerships, deterrence, and force posture
* You will serve as an action officer responsible for planning and executing courses, workshops, strategic dialogues, and regional engagements from concept development through execution and assessment.
* You will mentor Fellows and contribute to their professional and intellectual development.
* You will develop and maintain substantive expertise necessary to support executive education, regional engagement, academic partnerships, public outreach, and strategic initiatives.
* You will teach and facilitate seminars and collaborative learning among security practitioners from throughout the Indo-Pacific.
* You will develop curriculum, instructional materials, case studies, simulations, and experiential-learning activities appropriate to diverse civilian and military audiences.

* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This is a Key Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) position and requires a DoD SCW Certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within prescribed time frames. SCW level required: 3 Qualifications DKI APCSS seeks qualified candidates at the level of Associate Professor or Professor specializing in Regional Security Architecture, Access, Basing, Overflight, and Force Posture to join the Department of Allies & Partners.

The successful candidate will educate civilian and military security practitioners on the strategic, political, diplomatic, and operational foundations of collective security in the Indo-Pacific. The position focuses on how regional security architecture, alliances and partnerships, access agreements, basing, overflight, force posture, operational access, logistics, and sustainment contribute to credible deterrence, crisis response, collective defense, and sustained operations. A central purpose of the position is to deepen regional understanding of how access, basing, overflight, and force posture-enabled by trusted political, diplomatic, and security relationships-contribute to credible deterrence and collective security.

The successful candidate will examine these issues from the perspectives of the United States, allies, and partners and help practitioners understand the national interests, political considerations, agreements, infrastructure, and relationships that enable effective regional access and posture. The successful candidate's academic rank and salary will be determined based on education, professional experience, scholarly record, teaching and facilitation experience, subject-matter expertise, leadership, and demonstrated capacity to contribute to the DKI APCSS mission.
