Public Health Educator

The State of Hawaii, Department of Health is offering a position on the Island of Oahu. The hiring process is part of the Department of Health's Hiring Innovation for Rapid Employment (HIRE) Pilot Project. Salary ranges from Level III $4,961 to $6,043 per month (SR-20, Step D to I) to Level V $6,043 to $7,351 per month (SR-24, Step D to I).

For Level III, assists a higher level Public Health Educator in conducting informational and educational programs concerning various aspects of a public health program; or, participates in developing, organizing and conducting part of the informational and educational aspects of a public health program or of a particular public health project under the close supervision of a higher level Public Health Educator;

and performs other duties as required.

For Level IV, plans, develops, organizes and conducts informational and educational programs concerning various aspects of public health; and performs other duties as required.

For Level V, plans, develops, organizes and conducts informational and educational programs concerning various aspects of public health; participates in overall program development and evaluation; assists in the recruitment, training and supervision of lower level Public Health Educators and others; and performs other duties as required.

Basic education requirement is a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. Specialized experience requirements vary by level. Some positions may require a valid driver's license. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
