Preschool Substitute Aide – Temporary, On-Call

Duties

• Assist with daily classroom lessons, appropriate student interactions, small-group instruction, observations, and assessment
• Supervise student behavior independently and under Teacher direction using early childhood health and safety guidelines
• Provide snack menu pick-up, maintain attendance and other records, and order and maintain materials and supplies
• Prepare materials for a safe and healthy indoor/outdoor classroom environment
• Prepare daily snacks, sanitize, and maintain classroom centers, materials, and equipment
• Participate in workshops, in-services, and curriculum development
• Assist the Teacher with Extended Day or Regular Day Preschool Programs

• High School Diploma or GED
• Good interpersonal skills
• Able to organize a high volume of varied work activities
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Maintains certifications as required for program needs
• Work may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands
• May require evening and weekend hours
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds

Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to manage diverse classroom activities while ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. Proficient in maintaining records, preparing materials, and supporting curriculum development in early childhood education settings.
