Job Summary
Industrial Hygienist in the Occupational Safety and Health Division (Code 106.1) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple shipyard-wide industrial health programs.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Navy regulations.
- Assist in developing training plans and act as a subject‑matter expert.
- Investigate health problems and complaints among workers by conducting walkthroughs, surveys, and investigations to resolve critical problems.
- Evaluate adequacy of controls for health hazards in initial and final plans and specifications for facility construction, alteration, repair, and process modification or relocation.
- Educational requirements:
Bachelor’s or graduate/higher degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences, or related science; OR Bachelor’s degree with 12 semester hours in chemistry (including organic chemistry) and an additional 18 semester hours in related disciplines; OR certification from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (formerly American Board of Industrial Hygiene). - Experience and skills:
Proven ability to influence, negotiate, partner, communicate orally, solve problems, conduct surveys and data collection, and provide reporting and recommendations. - Technical assessment tools:
