Position: NUCLEAR ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will provide engineering direction pertinent to control of radioactivity and personnel exposure to ionizing radiation.
* You will provide oversight and assure appropriate radiological controls are being factored into the planning and technical engineering procedures.
* You will be responsible for facilitating technical subordinates in accomplishing assigned tasks via mentoring, identification and communication of training needs to the Branch Head (BH).
* You will provide feedback to BH on technical competency issues in their Area of Responsibility (AOR).
* You will maintain close liaison with production personnel and resolve technical problems identified during the production phase of a job (e.g., Deficiency Report resolutions, Technical Work Document (TWD) changes).
* You will perform detailed engineering studies, tests and evaluations relating to your general AOR. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing engineering oversight and direction on planning and technical procedures pertinent to control of radioactivity and personnel exposure to radiation and performing job preparations for work in areas such as overhaul, repair, and inspection of reactor plant systems and components.
