Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled RF/Microwave Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and test high‑frequency RF/microwave components and systems. This role supports both current and next‑generation telecommunications technologies—including microwave, PTP/PMP links, DAS, LMR, and more. You will work closely with a Senior RF Engineer on projects vital to public safety and critical infrastructure, with strong long‑term growth potential into a Senior engineering role.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Design and develop RF/microwave systems including antennas, filters, amplifiers, combiners, couplers, and transceivers.
- Perform RF analysis, propagation modeling, link budget calculations, and system‑level performance evaluations.
- Integrate and test RF systems in field and lab environments.
- Utilize RF tools (EDX, Pathloss, etc.) for system design and optimization.
- Conduct measurements using RF test equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, cable & antenna analyzers, etc.).
- Troubleshoot RF performance issues such as interference, VSWR, return loss, and modulation‑related degradations.
- Support network upgrades, new deployments, and optimization of existing systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system design, documentation, and project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (RF/Microwave concentration preferred).
- 3+ years of hands‑on RF or microwave engineering experience.
- Proficiency with RF design tools: EDX, Pathloss, or similar.
- Strong experience with RF test instruments:
- Spectrum analyzers
- Network analyzers
- Cable/antenna analyzers
- Deep understanding of:
- Impedance matching (VSWR, return loss)
- Link budgets
- Modulation schemes
- Antenna selection and system impacts
- Interference mitigation
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and cross‑team collaboration.
- Self‑starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- RF network integration for:
- LTE / 5G
- Wi Fi
- Microwave PTP/PMP (licensed, unlicensed, mmWave)
- Satellite or defense systems
- Familiarity with FCC/NTIA regulations and RF exposure safety standards.
- Experience with equipment from:
- Nokia
- Motorola
- Cambium
- Siklu
- Commscope
