Job Description- Join a group of engineering professionals dedicated to excellence at Coffman's Honolulu office, supporting multidisciplinary teams across our organization.
- We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineering Designer who brings strong technical civil design capabilities and a passion for elevating civil workflows across a wide range of markets. Beyond delivering high-quality project work, the successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our civil CAD standards, enhancing multidisciplinary collaboration, and improving how we deliver work company wide.

This position blends project-focused civil design with corporate-level civil CAD leadership opportunities
. You will contribute directly to multidiscipline engineering projects—from planning through construction—while also offering guidance on CAD standards, tools, training, and coordination across civil teams nationwide in collaboration with our Corporate CAD Task Force.
- Produce high-quality civil site design drawings, exhibits, and deliverables for a range of site development projects.
- Develop grading, drainage, utilities, alignments, profiles, pipe networks, and other Civil 3D-based design elements.
- Work in multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to produce and align civil design components within multi-discipline design packages.
- Support engineers through preliminary design, permitting, final design, and construction administration.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for civil design programs and best practices.
- Coordinate with other discipline leads (Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection) to support Coffman CAD initiatives.
- Review and contribute to the development and rollout of corporate CAD standards, templates, and folder organization.
- Support Task Force initiative areas:
- AutoCAD folder organization and maintenance
- AutoCAD, Revit, & Civil 3D templates
- CAD/BIM project leadership frameworks
- Enhancing the drafter/designer/engineer workflow
- Collaborate with cross‑department leads to improve information dissemination, elevate CAD roles, and support training and onboarding.
- Engage with civil design staff across multiple Coffman offices.
- Provide mentorship and input as we recruit, develop, and retain strong drafter/designer talent.
- Graduation from a certified CAD training program or AA degree in CAD or related field.
- Autodesk Certified Professional preferred.
- 8+ years of civil drafting/design experience.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces, alignments, pipe networks, corridors, and profiles.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Excellent time management and a positive, can‑do attitude.
The expected annual salary for this position is $95,000 - $115,000.
