Summary
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
It is located in the DISA – OC/PACIFIC.

Duties- Provide expert technical guidance and direction across all aspects of telecommunications infrastructure, including network management, service provisioning, transmission systems.
- Review correspondence for compliance with agency correspondence directives and initiate applications, information assurance, and transport, voice, data, and video equipment/systems.
- Mentor and advise technical personnel on the effective installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex telecommunications equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including status reports, policies, schedules, requirements specifications, test plans, briefings, and study results, to support effective telecommunications project management and decision‑making.
- Perform project management duties, when applicable, which includes responsibility for ensuring project goals are accomplished and providing technical direction to other civilian, military, or contractor personnel.

- This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This position is required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.

- This position requires the incumbent to work an alternative or shift work schedule.
- This is a drug‑testing position.
Basic Requirements: Undergraduate or graduate education in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other related fields. OR experience evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrates knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.
Qualifying
Experience:
At the GG‑13 grade, at least one year of experience demonstrating competencies necessary for immediate success, including technical experience such as strong operational planning skills, ability to manage complex communications systems, project leadership, technical problem solving, requirement definitions, system design and implementation, budget management, policy or planning development, and communication and collaboration skills.
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG‑13 grade level.
