Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager III to join our team based in Honolulu, Hawaii. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders delivering services to key clients. The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects and will develop strong relationships with the team and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

Job Summary /Responsibilities

The role will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of small to large-scale design-focused projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects.

  • Manage one or more small to large design-focused projects, involving a full spectrum of engineering services offered by AECOM.
  • Provides project and technical task management for one or more simultaneous projects.
  • Responsible for technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
  • Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations.
  • Reviews contracts, prepares fee proposals, and project execution strategies.
  • Manages sub-consultant scope, fees, deliverable, and performance.
  • Good presentation and communication skills in English. Good report and proposal writing skills.
  • Client Relationships:
    Ability to assist in developing new client relationships and to strengthen existing client relationships. Ability to identify, understand and focus on clients’ key requirements.
  • Team leadership: good team leadership skills. Self-starter, energetic, pro-active.
  • Strong Team player.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer or Architecture Registration with the ability to attain a State of Hawaii Professional Engineer or Architecture Registration within 12 months.
  • Project Management experience in site and infrastructure design projects.
  • Previous experience in leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams to required quality, timeliness, and budget parameters.
  • Previous experience in maintaining client relationships and expectations
  • Knowledge of planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration, and code requirements
  • Experience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and managing multiple project types with an emphasis on design, sustainability, and innovation
  • Innovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to manage people and projects through demonstrated strong organizational skills
  • Strong skills in the full suite of MS Office applications
  • Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales team
  • Experience with Federal projects is a plus.
