Description
Mac Donald-Bedford LLC is seeking a detail-oriented, multi-skill and self-starting Project or Construction Engineer (Mid to Senior Level) to support a variety of federal, institutional, and infrastructure design and construction projects. This role focuses on providing engineering and construction oversight, ensuring the successful delivery of new construction, renovation, and modernization efforts. Assignments may include support for major construction (MILCON or large facility projects), sustainment and restoration (SRM or repair/renovation projects), and civil/infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in preparing and finalizing pre-award, quality assurance and contract administration processes for Government Construction Contracts.
- Maintain the Resident Management System (RMS) database for all assigned projects, manage assigned contracts, and update the RMS database. Responsible for data entry of all related documents including correspondence, Requests for Information (RFI), submittal of Contractor's Quality Control (CQC) Plans, Safety Plans, Activity Hazard Analysis, construction schedules, technical submittals, and insurances. Input/log data on Contactor's quality control report and deficiency tracking.
The A-E shall also be responsible to download the construction contractor's database in Quality Control System (QCS) to RMS and evaluate that the data provided is accurate and complete. The construction schedule provided by the construction contractor in Standard Data Exchange Format (SDEF) shall be evaluated with Primavera to assure contract compliance. - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited University.

- Must be able to travel. Capable of performing off-island travel within the Pacific Region for periods up to 1 year.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to develop solutions for technical and logistical problems across all phases and disciplines.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and provide input to environmental impact evaluations.
- Prepare and review construction drawings, design documents, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other platforms.
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, federal and local regulations, sustainability standards, and ADA guidelines.
- Support design charrettes, coordination meetings, and value engineering processes.
- Provide technical input during construction, including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, and on-site inspections.
- Conduct energy modeling, performance simulations, and sustainability analyses (where applicable).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and federal agencies, to resolve design and construction challenges.
- Prepare design reports, calculations, and documentation to support permitting and client presentations.
- For Senior Level - A minimum of ten (10) years of technical/construction experience or three (3) years of working knowledge of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers policies, procedures, processes, and regulations.
- For Mid-Level - A minimum of five (5) years of technical/construction experience or one (1) year of working knowledge of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers policies, procedures, processes, and regulations;
- Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, structural systems, MEP integration, and code compliance.
- Knowledge of LEED standards, ADA accessibility, and sustainable design principles.
- Ability to coordinate complex multidisciplinary design efforts and support projects from concept through construction.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Architecture Registration or ability to obtain licensure.
- Prior experience supporting federal government projects (e.g., USACE, GSA, VA).
- Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or other project management tools.
- Certification in LEED and knowledge of Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) requirements.
