AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of wastewater treatment experience to join our team. This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, with consideration for qualified applicants in other Hawaii locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support design tasks for civil projects related to water and wastewater treatment.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents in compliance with state and local standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including subconsultants and internal design groups (structural, electrical, geotechnical).
- Provide support during construction phases, including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.
- Interface with clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies to support project delivery.
- Contribute to project management activities, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking under senior staff direction.
- Assist in mentoring junior engineers and support their technical development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 4+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably in water or wastewater treatment projects or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
- Familiarity with construction administration and QA/QC procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and site visits.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with pump stations, sewer pipeline design, grading, and drainage.
- Knowledge of state and local regulatory requirements.
Work Schedule:
This role requires a hybrid schedule with in-office work in Honolulu.
