Regular, Full-Time, Limited-Term (not to exceed twelve (12) months in duration from date of hire), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the High Energy Physics Group, located at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (UHM) Watanabe Hall in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $4,000 - $4,400/Mon.
DUTIES: Assists with engineering design, development, fabrication, and deployment of diverse experimental apparatus for physics instrumentation, including fiber based optical calibration system, testing, QA/QC of fabricated parts, running the prototyping experiments and analysis. Conducts simulation and data analysis of the testing and prototyping data. Maintains Physics laboratory equipment. Responsible for specification and ordering of parts and supplies for physics instrumentation and laboratory maintenance.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Physics, Astrophysics, or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Up to one (0-1) year of experience in physics and astrophysics analysis and design, including experience with programming and simulations of physics systems.
KNOWLEDGE: Strong knowledge of physics and astrophysics.
ABILITIES & SKILLS: Strong ability to conduct work with precision and organization needed to fabricate optical calibration system. Post Offer/Employment Condition :
Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months. Must be able to complete the UH Title IX training within 30 days from date of hire, and re-certify annually. Must be able to complete the Workplace Violence Prevention training within 30 days from date of hire, and re-certify annually.

Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.).
SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse group of physicists, engineers, and students to design, develop, fabricate and deploy instrumentation for experimental physics.
