Who We Are

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer in our Honolulu, Hawaii location. This position reports to the Site OIC/Deputy OIC. The selected candidate will be part of a team that manages the day‑to‑day operations and technical readiness of the program and facility equipment. The role provides technical expertise in support of 24/7/365 watch‑standing duties; manages all program systems, equipment, and components;

troubleshoots system outages; coordinates with various agencies to maximize circuit readiness and minimize downtime; notifies senior program personnel of anomalies or outages; qualifies on applicable equipment; maintains program space habitability; conducts preventive maintenance; reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures; and provides Critical Information Requirements (CIR) to the chain of command.

Relocation assistance will be provided to the most qualified candidate residing out of state.

What You Will Do
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Analyze at all levels of system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise for installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of installed systems.
  • Serve as Power Control Station/Power Safety Officer (PCO/PSO) and oversee routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Inform the chain of command of any substantive changes to routine system configuration or capability.
  • Draft daily/monthly/weekly watch bills in support of operational requirements.
What We Are Looking For
  • 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in electronic maintenance, information systems, or telecommunication disciplines.
  • Experience managing electronic equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance, configuration, and calibration.
  • Experience with safety procedures when working with electronic equipment.
  • Ability to identify and correct emergent problems involving technical and/or facility‑related equipment, systems, and components.
  • Experience following quality assurance steps/checks.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain base access credentials.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Bonus Points for
  • Strong background in communications, fiber optics, electrical/electronic components, generators, AC/DC and high/low voltage theory and application.
  • Thorough knowledge of installation and maintenance of electrical/electronic components; working knowledge of Key Management Infrastructure.
