Civil Engineer - 4+ Years Experience. Waste Water Treatment
AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of waste water treatment related experience to join our team. This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, though we are also open to qualified applicants in other locations within the State of Hawaii.
The successful candidate will support a wide range of civil design projects associated with water and waste water treatment systems. You'll be working on projects ranging from pump station and sewer pipeline design to grading, drainage, utility coordination, and construction administration in a collaborative environment focused on technical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support design tasks
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents in compliance with state, and local standards.
- Participate in the coordination of multidisciplinary teams, including subconsultants and internal design groups (structural, electrical, geotechnical).
- Provide support during construction phases, including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.
- Interface with clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies to support project delivery.
- Contribute to project management activities, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking under the direction of senior staff.
- Assist in mentoring junior engineers and supporting their technical development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 4+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably with a focus on water or waste water treatment projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
- Familiarity with construction administration and QA/QC procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and site visits.
Additional Information:
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Honolulu.
