Associate Gas Engineer

Responsibilities- Perform engineering design, calculations, estimates, studies and coordination of gas distribution facilities installations.
- Analyze load, pressure requirements, future growth and other variables during the design process.
- Oversee the layout, sizing and specification of pipeline equipment, economic justifications and indirect supervision of others when project teamwork is required.
- Create engineering drawings and effectively communicate design details to field personnel and contractors.
- Conduct distribution system pressure and cathodic protection studies.
- Make and maintain external contacts to assure that materials, supplies and information are available as needed and that information is exchanged with external sources, agencies and local utilities on line locations and planned projects.
- Prepare economic justification for each project proposed to assist management with evaluation of capital investment. This includes budget items and completion reports for specific construction projects.
- Review completed work orders and cost data to assure conformance with plans and acceptability of construction charges. Updates estimated unit prices as needed.
- Assist in evaluation of system operations and troubleshoot problems.
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
