The Area Engineer is responsible for the generation of specified projects, lead generation, internal technical support and training, Government agency engagement, engineering consultant business development and product performance research and validation. What You’ll Do- Works closely with Area Managers, Region Engineers, and Geopier licensee teams to provide project specific technical guidance and direction in support of project feasibility and project bidding efforts for Geopier design build solutions
- Prepares or reviews engineering calculations and establishes engineering direction on projects with limited supervision
- Works with junior staff to prepare and update geotechnical design standards and presentation materials as directed by Director of Engineering.
- Attend virtual or in-person meetings to support Geopier solutions geotechnical engineering design standards
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations at internal and external meetings and workshops
- Provide training and review of engineer work products for Project Engineers and licensee designers
- Provides supervision and technical oversight of R&D and design standards as determined by the Director of Engineering
- Assist in troubleshooting construction challenges and design issues
- Occasional travel to support commercial and technical efforts
- Very strong comprehension of soil mechanics, particularly soil compressibility and shear strength
- Knowledge of computer systems and software, including AutoCAD, Microsoft applications, other geotechnical software including, SLIDE, SLOPE-W, Settle 3D
- Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects and manage expectations of stakeholders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and a self-starter
M.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis and 5 to 10 yrs. of extensive geotechnical design experience
Professional Licensure (P.E.) required
