PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America. We are seeking a Corrosion Materials Engineer to join our team at the Martinez Refinery in California.
OverviewThe Corrosion Materials Engineer reports to the Pressure Equipment Integrity Manager and provides technical oversight and engineering for assigned production and operations units. They work with a team of engineers and inspectors to ensure integrity assurance for fixed equipment and piping.
Job Responsibilities- Reviewing and approving inspection strategies including cathodic protection, chemical additions for corrosion control, and Process Hazard Analysis.
- Monitoring effectiveness of corrosion control programs to meet all regulatory requirements and ensuring Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) are appropriate.
- Managing and leading the corrosion management program (Corrosion Control Documents/Damage Mechanism Review) and providing overall technical assurance, including routine and during changes.
- Providing review and approval of welding procedures for repairs and new construction, including filler metal, heat treatment and WPS/PQRs.
- Reviewing and auditing to ensure compliance with material identification, handling, welder qualification and conformance, and identifying corrective action as necessary.
- Participating in Fitness for Service analysis of pressure equipment and piping.
- Participating in company best practice networks.
- Generating material selection reports for capital projects and selecting coatings and nonmetallic materials.
Occasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required.

- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in Materials Engineering.

The salary range for this position is $86,617.04 - $. Compensation is determined based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and internal equity.
