Mechanical Engineer (ME) – Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment - Combat Systems (STAVE-CS) Part Task Trainers, Shore-Based Training, Engineering, and Development Support (SBEDS) contract – U.S. Navy, Dam Neck, VA.

EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Provide hardware systems engineering support of training system evolution and integration.
- Locate, understand, and interpret data sheets to include 3D models as part of subassemblies.
- Use Autodesk Inventor to create models and presentations for enhanced viewing of assembly drawings.
- Support team members and users on cable fabrication, hardware installation, relocation, and preventive/corrective measures.
- Provide planning, design, and acquisition recommendations, along with implementation and integration of system hardware components.
- Participate in functional audits and physical configuration audits of multiple platforms to ensure accuracy of installed software and hardware.
- Review run sheets, wiring diagrams, and drawings to build, wire, and interconnect components at a detailed level.
- 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 7 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate.
- Prior experience in hardware systems engineering, including design, testing, and delivery of training systems for the U.S. Military.
- Strong knowledge of Autodesk Inventor for creating material models, including 3D part models.
- Familiarity with interpreting data sheets.
- Knowledge of various metalwork types, hardware, and fasteners.
- Understanding of PEM products for insertion/mounting of items to metalworks.
- Experience in hardware repair and troubleshooting, including cable fabrication, hardware installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repairs.
- Previous U.S. Navy STAVE-CS Part Task Trainer experience.
- Knowledge of Solid Edge and Solid Works drawings.
- Proficiency in interpreting schematics within Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
- Pallet jack/hand truck experience.
- Office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
- Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variations.
- Ability to pick up and handle equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Facilitate movement and relocation of items weighing up to 150 lbs using suitable lifting equipment.
