Leads cross‑functional teams to implement interconnection of independent power producers (IPPs) in Oahu, Maui County and Hawaii Island. Plans, organizes and manages program/project scope, schedule and cost; guides projects from inception to closeout, including permitting, regulatory approvals, land and rights‑of‑way support, stakeholder communication, procurement, construction and operation.

• Ensure required work is justified, cost‑effective and timely to meet contract commitments.
• Manage policies with contracted IPPs, co‑generators and qualifying facilities.
• Provide recommendations and training on technical issues related to renewable energy resources.
• Maintain project management filing system and historical data.
• Manage program/project tasks: scoping, budgeting, design, approvals, procurement, construction coordination, operation placement and closeout.
• Serve as focal point for program/project matters; meet objectives for scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety.
• Implement overall Renewable Energy plan for IPP interconnection including PUC application development and testimony support.
• Provide project leadership, secure team commitment, allocate resources and deliver required work products.
• Develop and maintain program/project schedules; prepare and present progress reports internally and externally.
• Provide leadership and strategic recommendations on implementation of Renewable Energy plans consistent with overall strategy.
• Develop strategies to achieve project goals, identify risks and resolve issues; redirect planning, design, permitting or construction to prevent delays or cost impacts.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders (IPP representatives, community groups, government agencies, media, utilities, private companies, City Council, Legislature, PUC) for information, permits, approvals and issue resolution; prepare and support presentations and testimony.
• Analyze status from cross‑functional team and present progress and cost reports to managers, directors, executives and stakeholders.
• Work with internal partners to obtain approvals and support procurement.
• Lead and implement LEAN continuous improvement best practices with a safety mindset.
• Support the Renewable Energy strategy and act as point of contact for coordination and technical, political and regulatory developments.
• Conduct or support field coordination and inspections of construction activities/sites to verify scope, standards and safety alignment.
• Provide support to the Renewable Energy Resources operational team to carry through planning, prioritizing and execution of IPP interconnection.
• Ensure team has resources and information necessary for PPAs to commercial operation; communicate roles and project information.
• Identify potential problems early, support strategy development and execution; redirect planning, design, permitting or construction to avoid constraints.
• Investigate utility best practices related to renewable energy; stay informed on political, regulatory, technical advances and update integration requirements for future RFPs.
• Prepare and deliver expert testimony, presentations and documents filed with the PUC or other agencies.
• Communicate renewable energy strategy in community outreach efforts and resolve project‑related issues with stakeholders.
• Obtain or support company authorizations for expenditures and coordinate review/approval of procurement activities supporting program permitting and construction.
• Participate in company emergency response activities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of project management principles and engineering & construction practices in transmission and distribution and/or generation.
• Working knowledge of renewable energy technologies, both commercial and emerging, and their utility‑scale applications.
