Help shape and safeguard the electrical systems that support Honolulu's communities. The City and County of Honolulu is seeking experienced, licensed Electrical Engineers to perform complex professional work reviewing and approving electrical designs for the City's infrastructure projects.
What you will do:
- Review electrical plans and specifications for design and code compliance
- Approve or reject plans and specifications requiring professional judgment and interpretation
- Conduct field and office studies of electrical systems
- Prepare and review complex contracts and technical specifications
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors and City staff
Special work requirements:
- May be exposed to construction and traffic hazards during site visits
- May be required to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding or walk on uneven terrain
- Must wear personal protective equipment as required
- Serve as a Disaster Response Worker during civil defense emergency
