Job DescriptionHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based Pearl City, Hawaii.
Technical Responsibilities- Plan, manage, supervise, oversee and allocate resources to all aspects of maintenance activities within the maintenance sections of rolling stock and depot equipment
- Provide support and guidance on rolling stock and depot equipment within the Engineering & Maintenance Department and to the O&M organization at-large
- Assist the Engineering & Asset Manager and staff in updating the maintenance procedures and work instruction to enhance safety, reliability and efficiency
- Manage and complete assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required
- Assist the Engineering & Asset Manager in providing strategic direction, planning, and managing assessing asset condition, performance and obsolescence of passenger vehicles and Depot equipment
- Perform and carry out duties as instructed/directed by the Head of Maintenance
- Manage and perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of System and subsystem to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults
- Manage the completion of assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required
- Manage and schedule the routine, preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, and proper maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturers maintenance instructions
- Manage log files to troubleshoot any problem or to provide predictive maintenance for the systems
- Ensure the effective implementation of first-line response maintenance safety standards
- Direct and where necessary supervise staff in handling complex maintenance activities
- Plan, manage and allocate resources to ensure PV availability and effective and efficient use of the depot equipment and facilities
- Ensure that all staff within Rolling Stock and Depot equipment section are fully competent to perform their assigned tasks
- Ensure that the safety standards within the sections of rolling stock and first line response maintenance are established and in compliance with the company safety policy and procedures
- Ensure that the safety procedures are fully observed and implemented during all maintenance activities on rolling stock, depot equipment and the warehouse by employees and sub-contractors alike
- Meet the Key Performance Indicators according to the targets agreed with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager
- The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, working on weekends and holidays which is typical of major infrastructure projects, and operational rail transit systems
- Be available to attend on a 24-hour on-call basis incidents and emergency within its section
- Conduct regular health, safety, quality and environmental management review to determine if performance is adequate and to recommend any changes in procedures
- Follow safe working procedures personally and wear appropriate protective gears as required and look out for the safety of others
