Location: East Honolulu
The Safety Management Specialist IV-V position plans, organizes, and executes safety and certification programs for airport operations at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on Oahu, including aircraft rescue and firefighting. The role implements safety management systems to assess safety components, collects and analyzes data, and takes corrective action as needed. Level V positions supervise staff specialists and provide technical support in evaluating airport facilities and operations for compliance with FAA regulations and Hawaii occupational safety laws.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 2.5-3.5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in safety or risk management with strong technical knowledge of FAA directives and airport certification
- Experience conducting inspections and evaluations of facilities for compliance and recommending corrective actions
- Supervisory aptitude (Level IV) or one year of supervisory experience (Level V)
- Valid driver's license at time of appointment
- Ability to obtain SIDA clearance and pass federal criminal history records check
