Salary: $3,266 to $4,139 per month (SR-08, Step C to I)

Shift work:
Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
This posting is for the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Visitor Information Program Assistant I is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Lihue Airport, for providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain; and for incidentally performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned.
Basic ExperienceApplicants must possess experience which demonstrated the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. This requirement may also be met with the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
General ExperienceOne (1) year of work experience which demonstrated positive evidence that applicants possess patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.
Driver's LicenseApplicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records CheckIn accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application.
Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
