First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a customer-focused, collaborative, detail-oriented Accountant I to join our Controller's Division Team. In this role, you will be r esponsible for ban control reconciliations and escheatment processing and reporting. Utilizes the automated Account Recon Positive Pay Advantage (ARPPA) system along with the deposit and other automated systems for reconciling procedures and to assist with daily bank operations and inquiries from the branches and other business units.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (hours may vary)
Compensation
The hourly salary range for this role is $ 21.25 to $26.25 /per hour; commensurate with experience
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required
- 2 years of experience in an accounting or business administration role, or equivalent experience required
- Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite of applications (e.g., Excel, Word and Access)
- Proficiency with a 10-key calculator and typewriter strongly preferred
- Ability to gather data from the FHB’s reconciliation, deposit, wire transfer, general ledger and other mainframe and PC systems independently
- Oral, intrapersonal and written communication skills required
- Must be a self-starter and team worker to be able to interact with internal and external personnel to accomplish goals
- Organization skills and ability to prioritize work is essential
- Accuracy and attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work quickly is also required
- Able to exercise discretion regarding confidential matters
