Job Summary

Hybrid work environment; must reside in Hawaii. Focused on HMSA's Government Programs plans (Medicare, Medicaid, ACA), extracting data from multiple internal and external sources and providing statistical, financial, and business research and analysis to help HMSA manage the MA, QI, and ACA lines of business financial revenue performance. Completes analysis and research that ensures the long-term business objective and goals are met within the Medicare Programs Finance department.

Under guidance from Manager or Sr BAs, completes reporting and research for HMSA's Government Program Finance and supports department projects.

Pay Range

$47,500 to $88,000 — individuals typically begin between the minimum and middle of the pay range.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Reporting, Research & Analysis
    • Runs reports and assists analysis of premium revenue, risk adjustment payments, and other revenue streams related to lines of business.
    • Gathers and validates financial and enrollment data from internal and external sources.
    • Supports RAF and financial data needs of program through data collection and organization.
    • Runs data for models to assess the impact of regulatory changes, enrollment trends, and market dynamics on revenue.
    • Variance analysis: identify variances between actual and projected revenue, providing follow-up opportunities for further research.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Reconciles that reporting adheres to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Builds and maintains conceptual level knowledge of revenue structures and regulations.
    • Follows appropriate documentation of desktop procedures for reconciliation and audit needs.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
