Finance Officer
Play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a thriving Christian school community at South Coast Baptist College (SCBC). We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Finance Officer to join our Finance team on a contract from September 2026 to April 2027.
About the roleThe Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the effective financial administration of the College. Key duties include accurate tuition fee billing, banking, reconciliations, and accounts receivable functions. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities- Process tuition fee billing accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile debtor accounts and follow up outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable records and ledgers.
- Assist with monthly financial reconciliations and end‑of‑month processes.
- Process banking transactions and receipts.
- Manage petty cash in accordance with College procedures.
- Respond to finance enquiries from parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Assist with general bookkeeping and finance administration tasks.
- Support the wider Finance team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
You are an organised and proactive finance professional who enjoys working with numbers and delivering excellent customer service. You will bring:
- Experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounts receivable role.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy and organisational skills.
- Experience performing reconciliations and maintaining financial records.
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience using accounting software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
- A commitment to the Christian mission, values, and culture of the College.
- Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in finance, bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field.
- Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
- National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain.
- A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Active participation in a church or Christian community.
- Acceptance of the College's Statement of Faith.
- Commitment to maintaining a child‑safe environment in line with the College's values and policies.
