Salary: Temporary Disability Insurance/Health Care Specialist IV: $5,369 to $6,535 monthly (SR‑22, Step D to I). Temporary Disability Insurance/Health Care Specialist III: $4,961 to $6,043 monthly (SR‑20, Step D to I). Temporary Disability Insurance/Health Care Specialist II: $4,590 monthly (SR‑18, Step
D).
- Perform the most difficult and complex health care plans review and acceptance activities as a regular assignment (Specialist IV).
- Review and recommend approval or disapproval of plans and Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) provisions of collective bargaining agreements submitted by insurance carriers and employers, ensuring compliance with TDI and Health Care laws, rules and regulations (Specialist III).
- Conduct full range of TDI claims examination and denial of benefits review; assist in review of TDI and Health Care plans; receive advanced training (Specialist II).
- Perform other duties as required.
- Legal authorization to work: Candidate must be a citizen, national, permanent resident alien of the United States, or otherwise eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- General experience: One‑half (1/2) year of progressively responsible professional or analytical work involving fact‑finding, analysis, interpretation of relevant laws, rules and regulations, and effective communication.
- Specialized experience:
- Level IV:
Two (2) years of specialized experience. - Level III:
One (1) year of specialized experience. - Level II:
No specialized experience required.
- Level IV:
- Knowledge and application of Temporary Disability Insurance and/or Pre‑paid Health Care laws, rules and regulations, including relevant rulings and precedents.
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports, read and interpret complex written material, and solve complex problems logically.
