Description

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to direct the financial strategy and accounting operations for a hospitality organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is responsible for strengthening profitability through accurate reporting, disciplined budgeting, and effective oversight of cash management and controls. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted partner to operational leadership while ensuring compliance, safeguarding company assets, and building a high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities:

- Direct the day-to-day financial activities of the property, including oversight of cash position, incoming payments, vendor disbursements, deposits, and account activity.

- Produce weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements and management reports that are accurate, timely, and useful for decision-making.

- Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle by evaluating revenue trends, controlling expenses, and analyzing variances against financial targets.

- Maintain compliance with applicable tax requirements, licensing obligations, contractual commitments, and other regulatory standards affecting the business.

- Strengthen accounting procedures and internal control practices to support reliable financial operations and protect organizational assets.

- Review account reconciliations, balance sheet activity, and bank records to confirm accuracy and quickly resolve discrepancies.

- Manage the preparation for internal and external audits, working closely with auditors to provide documentation and address findings.

- Recruit, coach, and supervise finance personnel, creating a productive team environment focused on accountability and development.

- Collaborate with executive and departmental leaders to improve financial performance, support operational planning, and reinforce sound spending practices.

- Evaluate daily operating results and departmental financial activity, while handling special assignments and cross-functional finance projects as needed.

Requirements - Demonstrated leadership experience in finance or accounting, including responsibility for budgeting, reporting, and staff oversight.

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close processes, and annual budget preparation.

- Experience managing cash flow forecasting, payables, receivables, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.

- Solid understanding of internal controls, audit coordination, and regulatory compliance within a business environment.

- Ability to interpret financial data, perform variance analysis, and translate results into actionable recommendations.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to work closely with leadership, employees, and external partners.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
