Position Function

The ACL & Credit Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing and directing activities in credit loss forecasting and allowance for credit losses (ACL), analyzing/reporting portfolio performance, monitoring for emerging credit risk, and synthesizing/incorporating market and economic trends. This includes overseeing the analytical evaluation of delinquency, non-accrual, and charge-off data against current ACL coverage ratios for adequacy determination; assessing changes in loan portfolio risk characteristics;

continuously enhancing evaluation metrics for the loan portfolio; and ensuring well-supported documentation on risk component calculations, analyses, and robust control testing procedures. Ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of credit loss reserves while enhancing data driven reporting, automation initiatives, and strategic decision-making. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing risk team by setting clear expectations, delivering regular feedback, and supporting career growth, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This role acts as a primary liaison working closely with senior leadership across finance, credit, risk, and technology teams to enhance and streamline reserve methodologies.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Oversee and direct the execution of CECL models on a recurring basis, including data preparation, model runs, validation checks, and reconciliation to source systems. Manage the calculation and analysis of credit risk reserves across diverse loan portfolios, ensuring alignment with accounting standards. Lead the development and maintenance of reserve forecasting models, stress-testing frameworks, and scenario analyses. Identify key drivers of reserve changes, trends in portfolio performance, and emerging credit risks using advanced data analytics.
  • Manage the creation of monthly and quarterly loan reporting; taking ownership of data extracts and working across departments to resolve integrity issues. Direct the continuous enhancement of evaluation metrics and data-driven reporting tools for the loan portfolio.
  • Prepare complex credit risk management reports and presentations for senior management and committees, offering analytics on asset quality, concentration and diversification, expected portfolio performance. Partner with lending units and management to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate emerging portfolio risk.
  • Review and approve well-supported documentation regarding forecast methodology and assumption decisions. Drive the periodic review and updates of the ACL Committee charter, CECL and credit policies & procedures.
  • Ensure that the bank remains in compliance with regulatory risk management requirements and directives. Oversee the timely and accurate execution of SOX controls and periodic testing, partnering closely with Enterprise Risk Management to ensure compliance with applicable policy frameworks.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing risk team by setting clear expectations, delivering regular feedback, and supporting career growth, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement to optimize ACL methodologies, credit analytics, and portfolio reporting workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year university, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field required.
Experience
  • 7+ years of experience incredit administration, credit risk analysis, forecasting, accounting, and/or loan portfolio reporting.
  • 4+ years of experience managing staff, project teams, or cross-functional resources required.
  • 2+ years of experience in statistical modeling or regression analytics preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in banking preferred.
