Job Description
As an Individual Contributor, this role leads and advances operational risk management programs with a primary focus on New Product, Service, and Initiative (NPSI) risk reviews and AI risk reviews. The role provides expert program leadership, governance oversight, risk challenge, stakeholder engagement, and practical guidance that enable business units to responsibly implement new capabilities while maintaining effective risk identification, control design, and compliance with the Bank's risk management framework.
Responsibilities- NPSI Program Leadership:
Leads the execution and ongoing maturity of the NPSI risk review program by coordinating intake, scoping, stakeholder engagement, risk assessments, documentation, review activities, and reporting. Ensures reviews are completed consistently, thoroughly, and in alignment with established governance requirements. - AI Risk Review Oversight:
Leads reviews of AI-enabled solutions, automation initiatives, data-driven capabilities, and emerging technologies. Evaluates operational, compliance, information security, privacy, third-party, customer impact, and control considerations to support informed risk decisions. - Risk Framework Development:
Develops, enhances, and maintains methodologies, workflows, templates, standards, assessment criteria, and reporting routines that support effective risk management practices. Continuously identifies opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and risk transparency. - Business Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement:
Serves as a trusted advisor to business units by providing guidance on review requirements, risk considerations, control expectations, and submission readiness. Fosters strong partnerships that promote proactive risk identification and responsible innovation. - Enterprise Risk Governance and Continuous Improvement:
Supports ongoing enhancement of operational risk management programs through monitoring of emerging risks, industry developments, regulatory expectations, and best practices. Drives issue resolution, corrective action planning, process improvements, and effective first-line adoption of risk management practices. - Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, risk management, information systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience or certification(s) may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in operational risk management, enterprise risk management, internal audit, compliance, or a related discipline, including significant experience leading complex programs, initiatives, or projects.
- Experience developing and implementing risk management programs and governance frameworks, including supporting reviews of new products, services, technologies, third-party solutions, models, automation, artificial intelligence, and other complex business initiatives preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced knowledge and skill proficiency in business acumen, cross-functional collaboration, customer experience, decision making & judgement, laws & regulations, program management, risk analysis and strategic thinking.
- Intermediate knowledge and skill proficiency in operational risk management, presentation design, and risk audit.
- Demonstrates strong business judgment, professional skepticism, and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders. Effectively builds partnerships across functions, communicates complex concepts clearly, remains adaptable in changing environments, manages multiple priorities simultaneously, and operates independently with limited supervision.
