First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Financial Strategy Manager to join our Retail Products & Services Division.

The pay range for the role is $145,000 - $170,000/yr; commensurate with experience

The level of the position will be determined by the hiring manager based on the candidate's qualifications.

Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (hours may vary)

The Vice President, Financial Strategy Manager, serves as the senior financial leader and strategic advisor for the Retail Products & Services Division. This role oversees a broad portfolio that includes deposit products, consumer and small business lending, consumer and small business credit cards, commercial card products, and the enabling functions that support them (including underwriting and operations).

This role provides division-wide forecasting, budgeting, financial performance monitoring, executive reporting, and financial modeling. This position ensures leadership has a clear, data-driven and forward-looking view of performance, emerging risks, opportunities, and investment capacity.

Partnering closely with the division’s senior leadership team and cross-functional leaders across Product, Marketing, Operations, Underwriting, Risk, Finance, Technology, Procurement, this role develops financial insights that guide strategic prioritization, investment and resource allocation decisions, acquisition and loyalty program economics, and ongoing performance optimization.

The role also contributes to vendor and contract negotiations, enhances expense discipline, and provides oversight of vendor invoicing governance, budget adherence, and management reporting aligned to forecasts and strategic goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, related field, or equivalent experience required.
• Familiarity with operational forecasting (volumes, capacity, workflow demand) required.
• Eight (8)+ years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, FP&A, product finance, or related strategic financial roles required.
• Experience in financial services (deposits, lending, cards, or similar regulated environment) required.
• Ability to translate complex data into simple, compelling narratives required.
• CFA, Master of business administration, or finance, economics, or marketing highly desirable.
• Experience supporting portfolios spanning deposits, consumer lending, small business lending, and/or credit cards.
• Experience with vendor/contract financial analysis, including negotiation support and ongoing spend governance.
• Advanced analytics/reporting capability (Power BI/Tableau; SQL a plus).
• Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of applications, with the ability to create executive-ready presentations, financial models, dashboards, and structured planning documents.
• Strong planning, organizational, and budgeting discipline, with the ability to manage complex forecasting cycles, competing priorities, and cross-functional deliverables.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex financial insights into clear, concise executive-level messaging.
• Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and external vendors.
• Demonstrated judgment and discretion in handling highly confidential financial, strategic, and personnel information.
• Exceptional time-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure, manage multiple concurrent deadlines, and maintain high-quality outputs.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical accuracy, and follow-through, ensuring consistency, data integrity, and reliability across financial reports, models, and governance documentation.
• Able to navigate shifting priorities, with the ability to adapt quicky while maintaining strategic focus and execution discipline.
