The Kauai Planning Department advises the Mayor, Planning Commission, and the County Council on planning and land use matters for the County of Kauai. The Department is also responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances, as well as the County's planning program, which includes long-range and regulatory policy documents like the General Plan and Comprehensive Zoning Ordinances.
The Kauai Emergency Management Agency strives to actively promote and enhance whole-community preparedness, resilience and safety in the face of numerous threats, hazards and disasters that can potentially affect our island communities. The VISTA will support these agencies through improving internal communications and operations, research, and data management. The VISTA will work with both agencies to improve inter-agency collaboration and advance the goals of the agencies for the benefit of the communities in Kauai.
Duties
- Develop well written standard operating for internal communication channels.
- Gather information, insights, and feedback for improving inter-agency collaboration.
- Monitor the effectiveness of communication efforts through analytics and feedback mechanisms, and adjust strategies as needed to optimize impact.
