Urban Rehabilitation Inspector II
The Department of Community Services, Community Assistance (Section
8) Division, is hiring an Urban Rehabilitation Inspector II. The position supervises and coordinates the work of Urban Rehabilitation Inspector staff under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Loan Officer. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate inspection staff, oversee property inspections, and guide property owners to ensure compliance with rehabilitation program standards, as well as City and State codes.
You will help ensure properties meet program requirements through effective supervision, inspections, and technical support, making a real impact in the community.
What You Will Do
- Supervise and coordinate inspectors to ensure work meets codes and rehabilitation standards.
- Inspect properties and advise owners on repairs and improvements.
- Check and verify rehabilitation work and contractor invoices.
- Handle complex cases and resolve disputes between homeowners, contractors, and staff.
- Coordinate with other programs and agencies to ensure compliance.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Special Working Conditions
- Personal vehicle required to drive to various locations to inspect housing units.
- Ability to climb stairs and step ladder, ability to kneel to inspect and ensure that deficiencies have been corrected.
- May need to crawl to check crawl space beneath structure.
