Job OverviewIndependently purchases a wide range of goods, supplies, equipment, services, etc., for an organization using informal purchasing methods; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Basic
Experience:
Work experience demonstrating ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, and perform basic arithmetic computations, including percentages. May be met from part-time and/or unpaid work. Alternatively, graduation from high school or equivalent. - General Experience (Two (2) years):
- A. Experience demonstrating possession and application of a good working knowledge of governmental purchasing methods, laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and requirements. Examples include account clerical or pre-audit work involving examination of documents supporting governmental purchases for validity and accuracy.
- B. Experience preparing and submitting requisitions for purchasing involving gathering information on desired product and alternatives, obtaining prices/quotations, writing requisition, and understanding purchasing policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
- Driver's License: Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
- Physical Ability (Lift & Carry): Some positions require applicants to be able to lift and carry objects of various weights unassisted, with or without reasonable accommodation.
