Position: DISABILITY COMPENSATION ENFORCEMENT SPECIALIST IV, III, II, AND I - DOWNTOWN, OAHU

Position

Disability Compensation Enforcement Specialist (Levels I–IV)

Responsibilities
  • Conduct enforcement activities to prevent and detect violations of Hawaii State Disability Compensation laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepare reports of findings, evaluations, and recommendations, and recommend corrective or punitive actions.
  • Coordinate and supervise enforcement assignments at higher levels.
  • Provide assistance and support in related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Legal Authorization to Work
    :
    Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States, or eligible for unrestricted employment under federal law.
  • Basic Education Requirement
    :
    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Specialized Experience (progressive enforcement work):
    • Level IV – 2½ years.
    • Level III – 1½ years.
    • Level II – ½ year.
    • Level I – None required.
  • Experience must involve investigating, enforcing, and promoting compliance with Hawaii State Disability Compensation laws, rules, or regulations.
  • For Level III, at least one year must involve enforcement of two of the three applicable laws.
  • For Level IV, at least two years must involve enforcement of at least two laws, with at least one year comparable to Level III.
  • Law‑enforcement experience affecting employee‑employer relationships may substitute specialized experience at a 1:6 ratio.
Salary
  • IV – $5,369 to $6,535 monthly (SR‑22, Step D‑I)
  • III – $4,961 to $6,043 monthly (SR‑20, Step D‑I)
  • II – $4,590 monthly (SR‑18, Step D)
  • I – $4,243 monthly (SR‑16, Step D)
