Position Overview /Duties

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This is a developmental GS-11 target GS-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pacific Ocean Division (POD), Honolulu District.

About The Position

With oversight from the Mission Support Officer and administrative support from the Executive Support Assistant (OA), the Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) provides continuity of Executive Office policies and administrative/operational procedures. Provides direct support to the District Commander and serves as advisor on matters pertaining to organizational elements of the District.

Major Duties
  • Maintains the District Commander’s calendar and regularly syncs with the District long‑range calendar managed by the Executive Support Assistant (OA) and the master calendar managed by the Mission Support Officer.
  • Maintains cognizance of District programs and overall problems, ensuring the Commander is aware of concerning issues.
  • As necessary, manages non‑distinguished visitors for the Commander and accompanies visitors as necessary.
  • Ensures all read‑ahead documents for Command visits are fully staffed and include all required information, i.e. briefing materials, bios, itineraries, agenda, etc.; arranges for and/or attends conferences or meetings called by the Commander.

    02‑Financial Management Certification Level II within two (2) years of entry on duty.

  • In addition to the salary, a cost of living allowance (COLA) of 8.64% is currently authorized for this location; subject to change.
