This Eligibility Worker IV position is located within the Department of Human Services in the Social Services Division, (SSD), Child Welfare Services Branch, Federal Payment Programs Eligibility Unit. Eligibility Workers in the SSD determine eligibility of federal and state payment programs, including but not limited to financial, food stamp and medical public assistance programs, for children receiving child welfare services. The primary purpose of this position is to complete regular quality assurance checks on completed cases, train Eligibility Workers, and oversee state and federal audits/reviews.

- Education Requirement: Possess experience demonstrating a high degree of verbal skill and the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions and perform basic mathematical computations (percentages and averages). May be met by part-time and/or unpaid work with evidence of continuous participation, or by possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- General Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience involving public contact work that required providing information, answering questions, explaining policies, and using a computer to retrieve and enter data.
- Specialized Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience demonstrating knowledge of philosophy, goals, functions and standards of services for public assistance programs and the ability to perform eligibility determination work. At least one year of the three years must have provided knowledge and ability to apply regulations, policies and procedures of the pertinent public assistance program(s).
