Space Exercise Planner (US Space Forces Indo-Pacific)

SMX is seeking three Space Exercise Planners to support US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI). These planners will provide high‑level subject matter expertise and lead the integration of space domain effects into theater‑level exercises.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate all phases of the exercise planning cycle, including Concept Development, and Initial, Mid, and Final Planning Conferences (JELC Management).
  • Develop Master Scenario Event Lists (MSEL) that synchronize space power, with a specific focus on integrating Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM).
  • Coordinate with allies and partners (e.g., Japan, Australia, South Korea) to incorporate “Allied by Design” principles into multilateral exercises.
  • Author After‑Action Reports (AAR) and facilitate “Hot Wash” debriefs to identify and document capability gaps in space‑integrated Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I).
Required Skills & Experience
  • Current DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance; requires US citizenship.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with allies and partner nations, including their respective commands.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple processes, large data sets, and multiple products for multiple countries simultaneously.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer‑focused and capable of adapting quickly to change.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI).
  • Intra‑agency or joint command experience.
  • International engagement or exercise planning experience.
Salary & Benefits

Proposed salary range: $140,000 USD – $185,000 USD.
