Recruitment Number 26-0268. Immediate vacancy is with the Department of Health in Downtown. Salary:
Archivist I: $4,368 per month (SR‑16, Step D). Archivist II: $4,725 per month (SR‑18, Step D).
Level I: Performs archival work which is narrow in scope and limited in complexity. Tasks include appraising, arranging and describing government records and/or private collections; providing reference service to the public, government agencies, and other researchers; collecting, indexing, storing, and making accessible digital data of archival/historical value; and other duties as assigned. Participants may engage in a planned training program.
Level II: Performs moderately difficult archival work. Tasks include appraising, arranging and describing records; providing reference service; collecting, indexing, storing, and making accessible digital data; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements- Education: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four‑year college or university that includes a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in history, political science, or public administration.
- Specialized Experience (Level II): Six (6) months of progressively responsible experience in one or a combination of the following:
- Professional archival work dealing with non‑current public records, documents, and historical records.
- Professional library work maintaining an efficient reference service dealing with history, government documents and records, political science, public administration, or law.
- Professional work formulating, installing, revising, or supervising a system of governmental records management.
- Special Requirements: Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and to climb a five‑step ladder unassisted.
- Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
- Paid holidays: 13 holidays per year (14 in an election year).
- Paid vacation: 21 days per year from the first year, up to 90 days total.
- Paid sick leave: 21 days per year from the first year, with no limit on accumulation.
- Other leaves:
Paid time off for jury or witness duty, family death, military duty, and blood bank donation; unpaid leaves available with re‑employment rights. - Health insurance:
