Duties

You will provide direct support to the J35 and J3 in all matters regarding the coordination and execution of policy implementation and operational planning related to USINDOPACOM Contingency Response missions and responsibilities.

You will be responsible for conducting Deliberate Planning as well as Crisis Action Planning as required.

You will provide a wide range of command, support, and coordination relationships that cross military, foreign partners, and local and federal governmental agencies contingency response efforts.

You will conduct daily high level coordination with equivalent and higher ranking civilian and uniform staffers at OSD, JS, GCC, and FCC through periodic travel for face to face meetings, Secure Video teleconference (SVTC), Tandberg, and SIPR email.

You will develop and interpret policies, procedures and strategies governing joint military operations.

You will make recommendations that significantly influence policies and programs.

This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
The applicant must possess expert-level knowledge of the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and have demonstrated experience leading Crisis Action and Deliberate Planning efforts in a high-paced Combatant Command or Joint Staff level organization. Applicants must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, proven experience developing strategic-level plans (such as OPLANs and CONPLANs), and proven ability to brief senior military and civilian leaders (Flag/General Officers and SES).
