Responsibilities

The Business Office Coordinator (BOC) assists the Site Administrator with the day-to-day operations of the business office. The BOC is also responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Registration and Medical Records.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Enforce all business office policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while supporting daily operations and workflows.
  • Assist the Site Administrator with supervision of business office staff, operational oversight, strategic planning, and communication of day-to-day issues impacting operations.
  • Oversees front-end revenue cycle activities, including insurance verification, benefit determination, prior authorizations, and accurate capture of patient responsibility prior to date of service.
  • Ensures timely and accurate communication of estimated patient financial responsibility to patients and staff to support upfront collections and reduce post-service billing.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts to deposit logs and ensure accurate posting and documentation of patient payments, adjustments, and refunds. Also reconcile vendor invoicing.
  • Monitors revenue cycle performance indicators such as upfront collection rates, A/R aging trends, and denial patterns; escalates issues and recommends process improvements to the Site Administrator.
  • Informs Site Administrator of applicable day-to-day operational or revenue cycle issues that may impact cash flow, compliance, or patient experience.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and scheduling oversight for business office staff.
  • Review, verify, and reconcile staff timesheets for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance prior to submitting for managerial approval.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to promote accountability, efficiency, and team performance.
  • Oversee all medical records activities, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
  • Support special projects and assume additional operational responsibilities as assigned to ensure the overall success of the center.

Pay range is $22 - $28/hour, depending on experience

Required Skills
  • High School diploma or GED. A bachelor s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years medical office experience such as a hospital, or physician's office. Surgery Center experience preferred.
  • Experience working with physicians is desirable. Must have knowledge of medical terminology. Prefer experience in accounts payable and receivable.
