Job Summary

As a Nurse Aide at Palolo Chinese Home in Honolulu, you will play a crucial role in assisting residents with various daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well‑being. By helping with grooming, bathing, and mobility, among other tasks, you will directly contribute to residents’ quality of life. Communication is key in this role; you will report any changes in residents’ conditions, complaints, or issues promptly to the licensed nurse.

Maintaining a safe and happy environment for residents is essential. Adhering to regulatory guidelines, life safety protocols, and infection control measures is a fundamental part of this position. Accurate and timely documentation of care provided is also a vital aspect, ensuring that each resident’s needs are met efficiently.

Starting Pay

$19.00 per hour based on experience and skillset.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring comfort and well‑being.
  • Helping with grooming, bathing, and mobility.
  • Communicating with the entire health care team for residents’ benefit.
  • Reporting changes to resident conditions, complaints, or issues to the licensed nurse.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English is crucial for effective communication.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Current Nurse Aide certification from an accredited program or school.
  • 2‑step TB clearance.
  • Criminal background check, fingerprinting, and drug screen clearance.
  • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
