Position: Patient Navigator Associate - Oncology (Full-Time, 40, Day)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports oncology patients and their caregivers through the health care system by providing access to supportive services and helping them overcome barriers to care.
  • Assists and navigates patients with identified external barriers as related to transportation, lodging, travel, and interpreter arrangements.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures and consistent with the goals and objectives of the department and The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Essential Functions:

    Finger dexterity, Seeing, Hearing, Speaking.
  • Manual Material Handling:
    • Infrequent: N/A
    • Occasional:
      Lift waist to shoulder between 11-20 lbs.;
      Carry between 0-5 lbs.;
      Push and Pull between 0-5 lbs.
    • Frequent: N/A
    • Constant: N/A
  • Non-Manamual Material Handling:
    • Infrequent: N/A
    • Occasional:
      Stoop/Bend, Kneel, Squat, Climb stairs/ladder, Reach shoulder level, Reach above head, Gripping.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • May be required to work at The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oahu.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    Associate’s degree in a health-related field; or two (2) years work experience in healthcare may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • Certification and Licensing:
    No certification and/or licensure requirement.
  • Experience:

    Prior work experience in customer service or direct patient interaction;
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
