Position: Coord, Revenue Cycle (Full-Time, 40 Hours, Day Shift)

RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for documentation of the workflow in the charge capture processes. Identifies possible weaknesses in these processes and quantifies net revenue opportunities in the correction of such weaknesses.
  • Develops changes to workflow processes and provides education and training to departmental staff to achieve net revenue opportunities.
  • Monitors functions and activities to safeguard The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC) against exposure to penalties and fines by ensuring healthcare services are billed accurately and properly at all times.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Continuous: sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, and repetitive arm/hand motions.
  • Frequent: speaking, hearing.
  • Occasional: standing, twisting body; lifting and carrying usual weights of 15 to 30 pounds; reaching above, at, and below shoulder level.
  • Operates computer, telephone, copier and 10-key office equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Education; or four (4) years in healthcare revenue cycle, training, or education may be substituted for educational requirement.
B.

EXPERIENCE:
  • In addition to the educational requirement, two (2) years experience in two (2) or more areas of the revenue cycle process, i.e., admitting/registration, charge capture including CDM maintenance, claims submission and follow-up, payment posting and collections in an acute care facility.
  • Experience to demonstrate the following:
    • Knowledge of reimbursement regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid program requirement.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Ability to develop and implement education/training program and activities.
    • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word and Excel.
    • Proficiency in computer-based hospital billing/records applications with preference given to experience with Epic systems.
