RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In collaboration with other members of QCIPN, assists, develops and maintains database systems, reports, and analyses used by QCIPN for performance improvement activities, including but not limited to clinical benchmarking, quality improvement, specialty variation, population health, and patient safety initiatives.
- Works with a multiple sources of healthcare data, i.e., claims, financial and clinical data, to meet both internal and external reporting requirements and support new initiatives. Projects may range from simple programming and basic data manipulation/analysis to more advanced techniques.
- Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
- Frequent: sitting, reaching below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
- Occasional: stooping/bending, lifting and carrying usual weight of 20 pounds; reaching above and at shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
- Operates computer, telephone, fax and printer.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, epidemiology, statistics, computer science or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one (1) year experience in health care required, preferably in performance (quality) improvement.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in maintaining and operating databases, spreadsheets, presentation and word processing software, i.e., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- Minimum one (1) year experience performing quantitative analysis with key health indicators and reporting.
- Prior experience in performance improvement (quality) in healthcare preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding preferred.
- Ability to utilize adhoc report writing tools, i.e., SQL
- Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people to accomplish assignments and projects effectively and efficiently.
