Hemodialysis Technician - Acute Hemodialysis; Part-Time​/Evening

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties pertaining to patient care and equipment/supply maintenance for hemodialysis services in accordance with established departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures.

• Required:
  
  standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, twisting body, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting usual weight of 35 pounds up to maximum 50 pounds, pushing/pulling weight up to maximum 50 pounds of force, carrying usual weight of 35 pounds up to maximum 50 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• May be exposed to blood and chemicals.

• A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification from the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) or Certified Hemodialysis Technologist/Technician (CHT) certification from the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing & Technology (BONENT). If not certified, certification must be obtained within eighteen (18) months upon entrance into the position.
  • Current BLS certification.

  • Prior experience in an acute care setting preferred.
