Kāhala Nui , considered Hawaiʻi’s premier senior living community, is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Assisted Living to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Assisted Living coordinates all resident services for Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Support (MS) residents. This role ensures resident satisfaction and supports the achievement of each resident’s realistic and individualized goals. The Director fosters an environment that promotes dignity, engagement, and independence, motivating residents to function at their highest possible level.
THIS POSITION IS 100% ON SITE, NO RELOCATION.

REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- 2 years of previous progressive management leadership experience in assisted living, senior housing, long-term care, or related healthcare
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to foster a culture of dignity, respect and person-centered care.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as operational needs require.
- Must have a valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Proof of annual 2 Step tuberculosis (TB) clearance in accordance with state regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Business Administration, Gerontology, or a related field
- Current Hawaii state RN or LPN license in good standing
- Experience with resident assessments, care planning quality assurance, and risk management.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (HER) systems and Microsoft office applications (word, excel, outlook).
- Current Assisted living facility administrator certification as required by the state of Hawaii.
- Demonstrated success in maintaining high occupancy rates and achieving financial performance goals.
- Advanced knowledge of dementia cares best practices and person-centered programming.
- Experience implementing quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics tracking.
